BIEBS Private Limited is an agile startup company established by 12 founding shareholders with an initial equity investment of Nu 8.41 million. The company was officially registered under the Companies Act of the Kingdom of Bhutan on April 9, 2020.
Mr. Chador Wangdi serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of the company. He holds a Master's degree in Business from Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia, and a PGCDM from RIM, Simtokha. Prior to his entrepreneurial journey, he served in the civil service for ten years and spent six years at the State Trading Corporation of Bhutan (STCB) as Director and General Manager.
Initially, the company aimed to promote MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism, leveraging Bhutan's global reputation for environmental preservation and Gross National Happiness. However, the sudden onset of the COVID-19 pandemic necessitated a strategic pivot in the core business model. Currently, BIEBS primarily operates in the construction sector, delivering end-to-end design and build services to government agencies and private clients.
During the pandemic height, Mr. Chador continuously refined business operations to maintain financial viability. He established HomeMaster, a specialized services unit offering plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work. This initiative addressed critical labor shortages resulting from the repatriation of expatriate workers, ensuring uninterrupted service delivery across Bhutan.
As pandemic constraints eased, BIEBS transformed into a full-scale civil construction firm, onboarding an experienced cadre of architects, structural engineers, and site managers capable of handling complex design-build assignments.
Recognizing market dynamics and economic cycles, BIEBS further diversified into tourism and travel services. Strategic investments in modern marketing frameworks continue to position this sector for long-term growth.
Guided by strong leadership, rigorous internal controls, Tally-based financial governance, and formal HR and procurement workflows, BIEBS Private Limited avoids inventory inefficiencies while maximizing operational value for all stakeholders.
The Three Bricklayers
One day, a traveler came across three bricklayers working under a blazing hot sun. The traveler asked each of the three bricklayers what they were doing, and each of them gave him a different answer.
The first bricklayer said, “That’s pretty obvious, isn’t it? I’m laying bricks like my boss told me to do.”
The second bricklayer said, “Me? I’m laying bricks for a building.”
The third bricklayer, however, had a slightly different answer. “I’m building a place for people to pray, giving peace and comfort to the people of the world,” he said.
Although all three were doing the same work, it was the third bricklayer that was working the most energetically, and demonstrating the most creativity and ingenuity.
